I am trying to get my hair VERY STRAIGHT but the regular perms for us are not working. I wanted to know if anyone had tried something else.

Buy Revlon Realistic or Hawaiian Silky Relaxer. It could be the smoothing process, that causes your hair not to become straight. When applying the relaxer to your hair, part it, apply the relaxer over and under each part, then apply the rest to the whole head and smoothing it with both hands. Keep smoothing, until the time allowed.

No, you will damage your hair. African-American products cannot be used on Caucasian hair, and vice versa. If you see someone who has hair like you want, ask her where she gets her hair done. Then go to the same salon.
