My friend likes this guy. He is in the 10th grade and she is in the 9th. They have the same lunch. I told he I would try to get him to talk to her. How can I get him to talk to her?

Pay no attention to rude comments by the kind of people (crazy chick xxx) you'd never hook a friend up with.
Consider this:
go up to the guy, be alone (catch him alone too, or others may ruin this chance), and simply tell him, "my girlfriend has been noticing you lately. I thought I'd let you know in case you want to say hi sometime. We hang together a lot, you'll see her with me." Then you give him a warm smile and leave. You might think on how to modify this to suit your personality and style, but dropping the information with a sense of casualness is the key to not freaking the guy out (scaring him off). Later, whenever you're with your gf and you two see him, be patient if he doesn't approach. He could be nervous or aware that friends see him and he's not cool enough to rise above their teasing. Seeing your friend look calm and composed may help him reconsider that a grade (or year) younger isn't much after all. If he does come over, be prepared to start the conversation (do names). Then, if they don't start addressing each other, stand up, look at each one in turn and say, "well, I gotta' go powder my knees" or something, and BAIL! They're on their own, as it should be, and the Middlegirl is free.

Well you can tell him that she likes him and go back and tell her that he likes her then... if things go right, they will end up talking...
OR
You could just ask him would he be interested in talking to your friend and take it from there.
