I think listening is the best thing. I do it all the time and just nod my head and agree. Sometimes the person just needs to talk. I find that the less i say the better things go. Not easy to do, takes practice.

Sounds like you need to change YOUR perspective
if you really want to communicate with this person.
IF I'm reading you correctly
you live with this person
or this person is a family member you cannot avoid?
How is your conscience bothering you?
From my standpoint
MY conscience would bother me if I called a family member psycho or crazy
Those are mean words
I can understand you are frustrated with this person
but if you could possibly put yourself in their place?
Do you think this person is happy?
It doesn't sound like it.
You cannot change others
but if you care
maybe you can help this person find some help.
IF NOT at least help yourself and get some counseling to help you deal with this situation--it truly does not sound like a healthy environment.

I find the best way to talk to these kind of people is put it on paper and mail it. beleive me they will read it and act like they didnt but at least you had your say and when they are alone they may read it again. let them know you are doing this because they always want to be right and u dont want to argue u just want them to listen to your point of view. it works when all else has failed and u will feel better to because you are having your say without an argument at least for now

Well try being a little bit more compassionate. Don`t call them crazy, just be friendly and stuff. There is no reason that you need to insult someone by calling them crazy. Just try to understand them and whats going on in there mind and point of veiw.

Email or send them a letter. But I agree with the other person's response, why bother talking to someone that is nuts. Tell that person that you are sorry but you are not able to communicate productively with them and cannot be friends unless they learn how to communicate like an adult and not a spoiled brat. This person must be extremely insecure and immature and it would be better if you didn't associate with people like that because they could potentially be dangerous.

This is the type of person you distance yourself from. If they are impossible to talk to, they have some major mental health problems. You cannot reason with them, you cannot say the right thing.
No need to feel guilty for someone elses problems. You take care of yourself.

If there are any friends left then get with them and, together, have an intervention. If your friend won't cooperate then shake her dust from your feet and let her crawl out of the gutter on her own time. You can take a horse to water, but you can't make them drink.

Hmm. Say I was trying to talk to my boyfriend about something serious...and lets say hes this "impossible person to talk to" that you mention.
I would probably get the two of us engaged in something we enjoy doing.... he likes going out to eat, he enjoys renting movies and watching them...yadda yadda..
I'd probably rent a funny movie, get some snacks together, and mid-way through the movie bring up the serious topic that i've been dying to talk to him about.
That way, he'll be relaxed when I bring it up.
And calling him crazy without saying it. hmm. If he was getting a little crazy I might say "you really need to calm down for a minute. I really need to talk to you about this"..... and if that didnt work....i'd call him a pshcho and walk away. lol jk.
Good luck.

Say what you gottta say and don't let they're reaction bother YOU!! You can't change this person's reactions, only yours. Sounds like a bit of a power struggle.
