i told you, they're not migraines! on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the highest, i'd give them like a 4 or 5

First thing you should do is stop taking aspirin. A headache is one of your body's warning signals that something is not right internally and you need to rest. If you keep on taking aspirin without trying to get to the source of the problem, it will keep on recurring. The reasons for a headache are far too numerous to list, however some of the more common ones are -consuming too much caffeine or sugar. Without knowing your diet and lifestyle its hard to say what you are doing wrong. However some suggestions generally are:
:-eat mainly wholesome, minimally processed foods. This includes fresh fruit and veg(especially in salads);raw nuts and seeds;virgin oils;small amount of unsalted butter;grains;pulses;lean meats;chicken;fish;eggs&dairy as desired.
-:limit your intake of beverages such as softdrinks, coffee, tea, alcohol and cigarettes if you smoke. You should steer clear of refined sugar products. Choose fresh/dried fruits & natural sweeteners instead such as raw honey.
:-drink enough clean water when thirsty
:-get enough rest each night
:-control stress in your life if that's a problem
:-get some excercise-walking, cycling, swimming are all great

It is important as well to listen to what your body is trying to tell you. As long as you choose healthy, minimally processed foods its hard to go wrong. Don't cut major food groups out of your diet for too long, especially if you have a craving for them, you will run the risk of running into some real trouble in the long run. In addition to this don't eat if you're not particularly hungry. Fasting has been used for centuries as an aid to healing.

Hope this helps

Are these migraines? Migraines definitely run in families. I am 3rd generation sufferer and my son is 4th generation. Do you see flashing lights, or have sensitivity to light and/or sound? If so, you might try Excedrin Migraine. My son and I think that stuff works really well.

If the pain is after reading a long time, it could definitely be eyestrain, and it's good you're seeing an eye doctor.

If the eye exam turns up nothing requiring correction, you may want to try allergy medications. I'd start with some over the counter Claritin (loratadine). Take one per day, perhaps supplement with a dose of Sudafed in the morning and see if that helps.

You may want to visit your family physician if you are unable to self-treat within 2 weeks to rule out anything like a sinus infection. If they are migraines and Excedrin Migraine doesn't kick them, your physician may write you a scrip for something like Imitrex. There are newer treatments, such as medicines and even physical therapies to treat and prevent migraines.

well, I certainly would be careful of becoming dependent on aspirin or any other medication for that matter. try to find the cause of your headaches, and start there. For instance, my trigger is lack of sleep, which I am horribly reminded of when I happen to want to stay up and visit when we have company or are visiting someone else. some other triggers could be different foods. or lack of certain foods or nutrition, this can be a difficult route to take but well worth it to prevent the headaches. hope this helps oh yeah, and you say it runs in your family, if that is the case, then the trigger may also run in your family, this can be helpful in finding out what it is. and if you go to a doctor, count on them treating the headache, not the cause, its not thier fault, only what they are taught

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

It could be you have something wrong with your back. Just because it "runs-in-the-family" doesn't mean you have to be just like them. A good Chinese practitioner who counsels will be able to get to the cause of the problem and treat you accordingly rather than treat just the symptom. Good luck.

Pinch your hand between your thumb and first finger. Try different spots between there and when your pinching it, it will relieve the headache for a while.

You are right to see an eye doctor...it could be eye strain...if he finds nothing, pursue it with your family doctor.

it is really a very wide question. but, it sounds like you are having migraine, which could be very nasty, and needs medical attention.
