i had a hard time when i first started using mine, but it gets easier if you do it a lot..
1. seperate one group of hair at at time, say about an inch, [smaller if you want tighter, or more curls].
2. open the clip part of the curling iron, &put the end of the group of hair in the middle area on the shaft of the curling iron. [haha shaft..sry]
3. since your just beginning using it, its best if you use two hand for this, - wrap the rest of the group of hair around teh shaft[make sure you dont close the clip part onto it]
4. twist towards the scalp.
5. hold for up to 10-15 seconds
6. release.
7. put curling iron away gently and soften the curl up[ most likely sinc your beginning it will look a little strange]
8. keep doing this, but you might need someone to help with the back, its very hard to do it yourself.
and you might want to comb threw a small amount of mouse, or gel before curling,[ it holds better]
some do it differently, but thisis how i do it.

ok, first of all- push down the button on it and slowly and carefully place a bit of hair in there and curl it all the way to the root of your hair around- and then close it and and let your hair in the curling airon for a max of 30 sec.- depending on the kind of hair u have. and then let go the button.

one of the best way to learn to use your curling is practice with it when it is not hot. most people are afraid that they are going to burn them self so they give up on it. practice makes things go better. try this and if you still need help go to the salon of your choose and ask for help.

let it heat up for a few minutes. take a piece of hair (not too big or small) wrap it around the barrel and let it stay for a minute (dont burn your hair) then release. easy as pie!
