The person that came with the idea of using "crazy string" to spot trip wires on explosives was, from what I've read, an american G.I.
Was he given a cash bonus or a medal for his idea. He deserves both.

He didn't think of to get a medal, he did it to save lives.

He does deserve one, however.

Thank you very much, while you're up!!

American soldiers are trained to be innovative rather than blindly follow orders. This is a good idea among hundreds of innovations that has been implemented in Iraq. Just another day in the office.

No. it's probalby saved money and American lives. Saving Lives is great, but when you save money you hurt the big companies that make money from the Penatgon's bloated spending patterns. And they don't like that...

whoever came up with that idea certainly deserves something. But it probably won't happen.

I am a Corporal in the Marines and I unfortunately guarantee you that he will get neither. Although it is a novel idea and it has saved lives.

I heard it was Al Gore. He invented the Internet. Perhaps it was John Kerry? He thinks the troops are idiots.

It sure is a great idea. I hope they get a medal.
