Do i take some supplementation/ use something on my hair, like beer or tea or egg?or shower at certain times only?I was told to wash my hair at least with water, daily. Could you recommend a good shampoo that's gentle?Paul Mitchell any good?

I do this, my hair is really long too, I know that blow drying your hair is VERY bad for it.

Use gentle clarifying shampoos(most of them are the cheapest also). Don't use curling irons or straightners.

One the average a person losses up to 100 hairs a day. It is unlikely that your hair loss is drastic or winter related (hair will get drier in the winter though). If you think your hair loss is substantially more than that ask yourself these questions:

1. Has your hair been in braids for a while, or even a ponytail
2. Have you changed any products
3. Has your diet changed
4. Have you started/changed any medications.

The answers are if your hair has been pulled back for a while it is just the hair that couldn't naturally fall out because of the braids or whatever. Or certain products may not mesh well with your hair type. Diet can change your hair this may be because your body is not getting enough of the proteins necessary to provide optimal growth and retention. And many medications have a side effect of hair loss. If these are not potential culprits then you may want to see your doctor because hair loss can be a signal of underlying medical conditions. Also look at your stress factor too.

Nessa:
My stepson is suffering the same problem. You just have a common scalp condition. No it does not have to do with the winter but that's usually when you start seeing symptoms, like falling out of the hair. I actually can't remember the name of the condition right now, sorry, but it's very mild. You know you have it if you're losing hair and if you're scalp is really greasy and it emits a foul odor.

To aid this condition, just mix up 3 tbsps of alka-seltzer and one tsp vaseline with one tsp fine grain salt. These toxins work together to make one strong antioxidant which will extinguish the infection on yoru scalp! Good luck!

yes it is winter related winter time dries hair out and robs our hair of it's shine, sheen and causes breakage and hair loss. don't be worried. change your shampoo to a hydrating shampoo don't use anything in the store go to a stylist center and pick up professional shampoo and conditioner. do not wash your hair everyday it also robs your hair of moisture since water may clean us it takes out our good hair oils causing it to break which turns into hair loss. also wait 10 to 15 Min's when you get out of the shower to comb your hair or that will also cause breakage. do not "rough dry" gently squeeze hair with your towel to remove excess water or the rough dry will do damage to your hair. hope i helped if you have anymore questions please e-mail me.

No wonder , it's not healthy to wash your hair everyday once a week ! That's why it's falling out ! Also if you blow dry your hair straigh it also causes hair too fall. Sunsilk is a good shampoo!
