No, animals dont use carbon dioxide, but they emit it when they breathe. So do humans, but plants take in the CO2 and produce glucose and oxygen, animals take in oxygen, so its a big circle.

No, carbon dioxide is produced by cellular respiration that animals do every time they breath. As you, I or any other animal breath in air to use the oxygen we breath out carbon dioxide. A gas produced during digestion of food would be methane or maybe better known as farts, toots, and fluffs. Cows do it... and I know I produce it too lol.
