I went to my DR with a swollen gland behind my ear. It is very painful to eat, it seems to be my salivary gland. My DR put me on meds, which caused me to break out in terrible hives. Now I am afraid to go back, but afraid to eat because of how painful it is. Has anyone had a similar experience and what did it turn out to be? Will this go away on its own? HELP!?!

Go to another doctor immediately. My mother had cancer and they ended up having to remove her ear, the ear canal and a gland. Hopefully this is not your problem, but just go because your health is nothing to toy with.

Sounds like u cuttin wisdom teeth which can be dangerous.
Take Benedryl for the hives.
Try putting toothpaste on the lump tonight to see if it will go down by morning.
If it goes down , then it is just a pimple type cyst which will go down and heal.
If it dont go down, u should go have a dentist xray your jawbone for wisdom teeth activity.
Go to a dental clinic at a health department if u cant afford the local dentist in your town. Gargle with vinegar and salt warm water.
