I can totally relate. Sensitive skin often becomes iritated and bumpy after shaving, but it is not actually caused by pores left open. Razor bumps and irritation are actually little hairs that culr back into the skin cause irritation and little pimples. Here are some tips to prevent these teeny ingrown hair and to help them go away faster.
-Shave after a hot shower. The shower softens the hair cutilcle making them easier to cut
-Use a shave gel or lotion
-Shave in the direction of the hair growth. It may take a few more swipes that shaving in the opposite direction, but it's much easier of the skin.
-Be sure to rinse off all of the shave product. It can cause irritation if left on.
-Try smoothing a moisturizer with salycilic acid all over the area shaved. I recommend Clean and Clea Acne Clearing Moisturizer. The salycilic acid helps draw the infection out of the hair follicles while the moisturizer helps stop irritation from dry skin.
Don't forget the sunscreen!!

Although inflammation is usually blamed on friction-enduced irritation (for example, using a blunt razor causes more friction, hence why using fresh blades is best), there are routes to avoid the worst.
As you shave, the hair follicles open along with pores in the skin. This is caused by the action of shaving, and creams or gels you use to lubricate the blade, and by the warmth of the water/steam you use. This leaves pores open to infection and can cause them to become inflamed.
Splash cool water over your head after shaving, which will cause the pores to close again. Do not use water that is too cold, however, as this closes the pores too quickly, and can trap freshly cut hairs, causing ingrowing stubble.

Use a really sharp razor. Shave in the shower, or immediately after showering. When shaving, go in the direction of growth to stop the possibility of pushing a hair beneath the skin. Use an after shave gel with aloe vera in it.

stop shaving- a black man (african american, native american, hispanic) shouldn't shave anyway b/c its not good for there skin. If you want a short style go for it with scissors but as far as shaving down to the scalp-not a good idea
