Before I gave up meat my hair was really healthy, soft and shiny. Now my hair is drab, dull, heavy and lifeless. Is it just coincidence or is there a known link between eating meat and maintaining healthy hair? Is there a supplement in lieu of meat?

Meat has protien, so maybe that's why. Eat more protein, like peanuts.

It is not a coincidence. Your hair is essentially what ever is "left over" in your body. If you are not getting enough protein your hair will suffer. Hair is made up of mostly protein, which is called keratin. You can get protein from other sources, such as cottage cheese, beans, and tofu. Also try using protein treatments on your hair. If you find a salon that carries Loreal Suri Expert, they have many great protein treatments that don't leave your hair feeling dry.
