It is too bad you are getting a breed you cannot even spell, much less know ANYTHING about. Yeah, I see the road this is going down and I am glad you are not my neighbor!!!!!

Eight weeks is the proper age for a puppy to leave it's mother. Six weeks is entirely too young.

Presas require a large amount of socialization and obedience training. And a properly bred Presa is *extremely* important because of their size and the fact that they are a guardian breed. That's not even covering the standard health testing and titling requirements of a breeder.

If you are intent on getting this dog, please seek out an obedience trainer that is familiar and experienced with the breed and be prepared to work very hard. Also, spaying and neutering will help to minimize some of the potential issues.

The Canary Dog requires a very dominant owner who understand the alpha nature in canines. This is not a breed for a first time dog owner. No member of the family can be uncomfortable around the dog.
**Perro de Presa Canario** is the correct breed spelling.
Please do your research on the breed, before you bring one home, and you should never bring home a puppy that isn't atleast 8-12 weeks old. They aren't fully weaned and haven't learned the basics from their littermates & mother, until then.

do you mean presa canario?
you have good reason to be nervous. first off, that puppy's too young to be taken from it's mother. it hasn't had time to be socialized or weaned. in addition, this is a very large, intelligent dog breed, which is NOT suitable for a first time dog owner. these dogs are large and dominant; they are alpha dogs and need to be handled by someone who understands what that means. two poorly socialized presa canarios attacked and killed a woman in San Francisco a few years ago and the coroner said that the only part of her body left unmauled were the soles of her feet. they literally tore her apart.

To the last poster , are you talking about Bane and Herra ,the Diane Whipple case? Both of those dogs came from a farm ,then brought to a very small apartment in San Fransico. Both of those where more dog then either one of those lawyers could handle. They where Presa ,Mastiff mix.
