Presas are a lot of work. If this dog is under eight weeks of age, I would strongly suggest not getting the pup since there is a strong chance of behavioral problems from being seperated from his/her littermates and mother too young.

Being as you're looking at a mastiff breed (if you insist on getting him/her), you will want to look into socialization to the max since they have a tendency to be bonded to their handler and guarding around strangers.

Obedience classes as soon as possible are also a big thing to look into. You'll want to find a trainer that is experienced with mastiff/bulldog type breeds that may be able to do private sessions as the dog gets older.

And make sure you get the dog altered, since that will cut down on a LOT of potential behavior problems.

Join a few Presa communities online too. Heck, pit bull communities will be happy to help too! :)

www.pitbullforum.com is a favorite of mine and is an all breed community, despite the name. :)

Like pit bulls they are active intelligent dogs. You need to work on obedience. Do not be surprised that people will dislike your puppy. pesc canarian are one of those breeds thought of as bad. They have even been ban in some areas so watch out for that in your city. If you are nervous he Will be. Just enjoy your new puppy right now and take care of the rest next year. Find a good local trainer and even if you do not use them see if you can buy an hour of thier time to talk. Find a pit bull rescue or kennel, the two breeds are alot like they can help you
