Bill Moyers did a four part series on death and dying where he talks to many people who are in the last stages of terminal diseases. He talks to their families and healthcare providers, and to the people who work at hospice and in palliative care units. He captures what it feels like to struggle with the fear of death, and with the inevitability of dying. It is a wonderful series and I would recommend renting or buying it and watching it (preferably with a loved one, as it's quite wrenching). It may not make you less scared, but it will help you to know that everyone else is scared, too, and that one of the best things we can do is be there for each other.

A lot of people are afraid of dying for some reason or another...the unknown...people you may leave behind...whatever the reason, you are more normal than you may think. However, if the fear is stopping you from enjoying life then you need to talk to someone. Are you spiritual? Do you follow a faith of any kind? Maybe you could talk to a Minister, Priest, Psychologist...this is not an easy thing to help someone with because other than what your beliefs are...nobody really knows what death brings. I will be thinking about you and hoping you find your relief of fear. Take care.

Are you ill? How old are you? Everyone at some point contemplates dying and fears it. However, it is not healthy if you are obsessed with it. When I was younger , I was afraid, but as I have gotten older it really does not bother me. Have seen a lot of family members die in front of me and it was peacefull and a blessing. If you are afraid of dying because you have done some bad things in life and believe in heaven or hell, and think you are going to face the devil, then you need to consult a clergyman.
Remember one thing though, the minute we are born we start to die and there is only one guarantee in life and that is death.
Hope this helped.

Most of the time I get so scared of dying, (and man am I accident prone) that I don't DO anything worth being alive over Is it fear of painful death? Thats mine. I just tell myself "No pain, no gain". Kinda cliche, I know but it works for me! My advice is just try to ignore that fear of dying. Go to therepy, or volunteer at a old folks home. Both these things made me appriciate my life a little more. Good Luck!

If you concentrate on this often and for periods of time with fear, you may want to ask a professional about it. This would be especially true if you find yourself having repetitive negative thoughts and you tend to dwell on them. These are symptoms of an anxiety or panic disorder. Often people with panic disorder have an overwhelming sudden onset of a fear of dying and may even find their hearts pounding and themselves physically running from a fear response. It is neurological. Check your thinking out and get some help if you fall into this category.

Everyone has a fear of dying. For some the fear is barly a whisper in their deepest thoughts but for others it can be a constant worry. Everyone will die realy it is only a matter of time. I know it might be scary to think of but try and think of how you have and plan to live your life not how it ends.
Hope it helps =)

You know, I have serious medical complications that can take my life at any time. I am not afraid of dying though. The Kingdom of God awaits us after our short transition on the earth and as long as we have become saved in God's name - call it Jesus of the Holy Trinity, or Allah of the Muslim tradition, He will be there for us and will welcome us to complete our journey into eternity. I will miss my family, particularly my wife and children, but I know that they will join me in the bliss of eternity in the presence of God, Almighty. I no longer have any fear. I have cancer and other complications, What I have said before doesn't mean I am not fighting the physical challenges, but when i lose the battle for life as we all will, all will be okay.
See you in Paradise. God/Allah loves you.

I am afraid of dying too but it's inevitable so it makes no sense to dwell on it. There's nothing you can do about it, so enjoy life while you still have it.

Don't worry, in a week or two you'll be thinking of something else. Find something to take your mind off of it, or really look into why your afraid and address that.
As far as real advice, I'm sure you can find better places than here to look.
