My 13 year old male neutered Maine Coon cat began to urinate all around the house. On my bed, the guest bed, the blankets on the floor or whatever happens to fall down that is soft. I have 2 other cats but he is used to them and he eats Science Diet Light. I have 3 cat boxes in my house. All with different litters because his previous owners declawed him so he might be sensitive to one. I will bring him to the vet this week to get him checked out but maybe there are other cats that do this. (There is also a stray cat around my house that lives in my garage, but he began that before the cat was there) Thanks.

You may think he started doing it before the stray started hanging around, but he probably noticed it before you did and is in fact actually marking his territory.

You sound very knowledgeable about cats, so I will spare you the lecture on enzyme cleaning of urine.

Good luck.

The best means you'll relatively do whatever to difference a cat's habits is that if it is a behavioral situation. In a fifteen-12 months-ancient, he almost always is not doing it voluntarily, however you can also wish so as to add extra muddle containers across the apartment that he can get to swiftly. My 18-12 months ancient male neutered tabby had failing kidneys for years. When he started urinating in all places the apartment it used to be considering the fact that he had to cross so all of the sudden that he could not get to the muddle field. My kitty's disorders have been triggered via a blockage that built very all of the sudden (inside two weeks of his previous vet discuss with). If kitty hasn't been to the vet seeing that the difference in his urinary behavior, it is valued at a checkup simply to be definite that this is not a signal of whatever extra extreme.

your cat may also be urinating around the house because the litter box may not be clean enough. Our cat has left little brown messes all over the place for this reason before

The age considered he might be suffering from a kidney disorder.. Had two old timers and they had that problem. The cats could go out on their own, (had their own door) One had some sort of a disorder with his urethra and had to be surgically altered ...he lasted six years after the surgery. Hope the vet can help him out. Good luck to you and your friend..

It sounds like your cat has a kidney infection. My dog was doing that and I took her in and she had an infection in her kidney's. You need to call the vet and let them know becuase they only get worse as time goes by.

Your cat may have a UTI, he may just be getting old, or may be mad at you. Think back to when it started...did you begin doing anything new? Although it sounds silly, animals can rebel to certain things.

it could just be his age. did you have these problems after he was fixed? or when he was a younger cat? the vet is your best bet.
