chihuahua's are not any more difficult to train then any other breed of dog. It takes peristance and patience. The biggest mistake people make with chihuahua's or any other small dog for that matter is not training them because they are so small so them misbehaving doesn't seem like a very big deal. Start training now and don't stop. Be repeatitive and patient as I said before. Chihuahua's are very smart little dogs. If your potty training don't let the chi have the full run of the house until they are potty trained (true with any type of dog). Socialize your chi also, let people pet it and bring it around children and other animals. Obviously you want to closely supervise. By doing this you won't have a nervous, fearful, nippy little chi. I have four and socialize them and potty box trained them all and they are all wonderful. I also know people who own chi's that are nippy, barky and pee and poop everywhere because they didn't train them. Start now.

As soon as possible. If you leave it too late, the Chihuahua puppy will become stubborn and much harder to train.
You should inforce potty training ASAP as they are VERY difficult to house break. It can take up to a month or more to house break a stubborn Chiahuahua, no matter what age.
