Maybe say "Thank you?" or "I would die for you too?" or "I love you too?"
I really don't know. Of course, you could also try the whole, "Hopefully it wont come to that." line.

Ask him what he meant.That seems romantic to him,but you may want to tell him that it does'nt sound romantic to you,but worries you insteadand could he please explain what he meant.
