Well, there's always lust... unfortunately it lacks the full flavor that love has. It also doesn't keep as long, so it's best used when fresh.
In a pinch it will do, but don't use it much. Your cooking will suffer.

Sorry there is really no substitute for real love. I am sure there is someone out there in the millions upon millions of people here on this earth that you do love. They may not be right there with you, but some where out there is someone that you do love. Just pretend that you are cooking for them, then you are cooking with love.

Try technical accuracy. If you can't make it lovingly at least make it correctly. After all, some things cooked with love also need to be eaten with love... and a weak smile... and a little white lie about how it's not that bad really... this is just the wrong time of year for a couple of the ingredients and....

In your case, I'm guessing that a couple of tablespoons of common sense would make a great substitute.
Failing that, dissolve two teaspoons of wisdom in a cup of warm wishes, and add to the recipe. It may not help your cooking, but it sure couldn't hurt.

In Italian, use basil. In Mex-Tex, it's cilantro.
