Why do some women/men, whem finding out their mate has been cheating on them, want to fight the one that their mate is cheating with? Why not go after the boyfriend/girlfriend? Though I dont agree that fighting is the answer, why not confront the cheater instead of the mistriss/mister?

I have wondered this exact thing for so long..I find men/women will go after the one their mate cheated with and bash them to the ground,,call them out of their name and really say all nasty things to them when it should be the mate they should confront..I find they dont confront the mate cuz if they get rid of the competition then they think they won, when that mate will just keep on goin for they feel they got by with it...I feel so many are so afraid of being alone they would take a cheater no matter what even though it hurts them...I really wish when people had someone special in their life whether married,,engaged,,bf/gf/ then they would stay devoted and not cheat..Would be such a wonderful world I do believe..God bless and excellent question

I think that people who fight the accomplice in the cheating escapade usually hope to reconcile with thier partner even if they are delirious and angry. If you notice, every man/woman that has fought the person other than the cheating partner usually wind up getting back with the cheater. They don't want to damage the goods they still hope to be in a relationship with so they direct thier anger at the person who they will not feel bad for assaulting.

Probably because they cannot confront the cheater. They're scared, intimidated or just can't get through the person. Also, they're probably not mature enough - or they can't think CLEARLY (because they're mad) what they ought to do that is (more) proper.

because they are foolish(note:not necessarily stupid). they don't want to think their partner was on the wrong (how could they be if they truly cared about me-they think) so instead the attack the extra variable because they can put most, if not all the blame on them rather than jeopardise (further) the state of the relationship with their partner.
