If you clean the toilet with harsh chemicals and do not rinse properly, then yes. If you don't clean the toilet and there is a lot of "dirtiness," then yes.

why would you let your dog drink from the toilet. There's bacteria in there and it's gross. I think if you wouldn't drink from it then your dog shouldn't either.
Give him or her a bowl of clean water.
By the way how big is this chihuahua and how the heck could it even reach the toilet to drink out of it.

How does a chihuahua reach? If you use bleach tabs or other chemicals in the tank or have residue from cleaning YES. But the water source is the same as your facet.

your dog should be fine unless you have something a dog can get which i doubt it.You might want to put the seat down after use or close the door just in case.

Depends on if there are any chemicals in your toilet...or if there is anything else in there (hopefully not).
