Everyone has a flaky scalp. We are all shedding our skin. Some of us, however, may have drier skin than we should. Combat this by drinking plenty of water. Combat the flakes by washing your hair daily. You can try using some sort of skin moisturizer at night and then washing it out in the morning. But the fact will remain that you will slough off skin from your scalp no matter what you do, or what shampoo you use.
If you feel you have an extreme case, you should consult a dermatologist.

Try "Scalpicin". It works really well to take care of all kinds of flaky scalp problems. Even psoriasis. It's not a shampoo. It is an after shower application.

Go back and ask the pharmacist and get a shampoo with salicylic acid. This will work. The problem is mostly caused by a "dry" home. Turn on a humidifier on your furnace in winter or set jars of water on the registers and keep them full if the furnace does not humidify. You may consider buying a whole house humidifier for about 160 dollars. You must get moisture in the air or it gets sucked out of your skin and you flake off.

All of them? If you haven't already, try Head & Shoulders Intensive Treatment or Neutrogena T-Gel. Or get your doctor to prescribe you ketoconazole shampoo.

I'm assuming you have seborrhea, although it could also be psoriasis.

I'm a physician who has seborrhea.
