For those of you for some odd reasons believe humans came from primates; why if we decended from them, are there still monkeys. Doesnt common sense say if we evolved from monkey, then surely all the monkeys would have evolved?

Good question. Not that I believe in evolution but if I did my answer would be. Some people evolve faster than others. Look at different cultures. Some are more advanced than others. Some are primitave like the Amish not using electricity or modern technology. Then you have the aboriginals in Australia. There are also people that walk on both hands and feet. A butterfly is born as a grub and becomes a butterfly after it evolves.

Evolution only occurs when a population is under pressure to adapt. Populations under no threat to their existence have no need to change. Sharks and crocodiles have remained unchanged for more than 200 million years. An ape populations finding itself in competition for resources had two options: adapt or die. In most cases these choices faced by any organism will result in the second outcome, and species will become extinct. It is possible that the first will occur though, and the members of that population will deviate from the original. Over time it becomes a different species. Populations elsewhere facing no pressure will not change. They will remain apes, while we evolved into humans.

You won't like it, but that's your answer, common sense and all.

which came first? the chicken or the egg?niether all life on this planet emerged from the sea. something to ponder..... is it a coincedance that earth is just the right distance from the sun? why is human blood completely different from animal blood? why is the salt % in human blood exactly that of sea water? You are right about the monkeys. Why are sharks unchanged after millions of years ? what about crocidiles and allegators? Mankind is a drop in the bucket compared to the earths age!

People AND monkeys came from an ancestor that was more primative than even monkeys. Along the way, something happen where ONE FEMALE was the beginning of all people that live today. That female gave us the power of speech.

We did not descent from monkeys -- monkeys and humans descended from a common ancestor, and monkeys are still around because there is a place in the biological hierarchy for them. (They typically cilmb trees better than people can.) Evolution is now a proven fact, and it is long past time that you learned why. Read the reference for details.

Actually, we did not "come from" or descend from primates.

We ARE primates.

And yes, all monkeys have evolved.
