It may sound a little wierd but it could be because of the fact that you are Asian. It is common for people to turn red when they drink because they have less of the enzyme that breaks down alcohol. This is common in people of Asian ethnicity but is not limited to them. It is the same reason why people are lactose intolerent, lack of enzymes that break down lactose. It's not really bad at all.

I wish I knew why it happens, but yes, my face turns red too, redder and redder. I am slower and more relaxed too. You?
I bet it has to do with the fact that alcohol burns the outside of the skin, so why not the inside too?
But I really truly do not know.

The same things happens to me and always has. I don't think we're allergic to it, but it is a reaction to the liquor. Make up doesn't work because it goes right through. Maybe if you drink more water in between drinks it might slow the redness down. I think it has ro do with genetics and having a fair complexion. If you find a cure let me know!

No my doesn't. Jack Daniels and I have been sitting here for the last five hours and I'm still the same color.
So when you say you turn red do you actually turn to shade of orange or what? Do you look like a Oompa Loompa from the first Willy Wonka movie?

Am Chinese too - I turn into a "cooked lobster". I think it's because blood rushes to the face when I drink, because I also start to feel very warm in the face too

this happens to many people because alcohol dialates blood vessels and thus makes your face appear red due to all the blood circulating so close to the surface of your skin. It's also possible you have a slight allergy to alcohol, which could explain the redness - especially if you have any puffyness with it.
