I have found out there is a nice wood flooring under the linoleum, but the stuff that I am using right now seems that it will take about 6 months to get all this glue off!
Help please!

I am a painting contractor. My advice to you is to contact a local paint store (sherwin-williams) or lowes. They do have a solvent that will remove glue after you've pulled up the linoleum. Be sure to look for and remove all nails around edges.

Years ago we had this situation. I spent hours with denatured alcohol and scraping. Finally we had the floor sanded professionally and that did it ! What I had done turned out to be a total waste of time. Today I might get as much linoleum off as possible and then try a solvent like Lift Off. Check with somebody at Home Depot, etc. for the right product.

They sell a special tool at Home Depot that is made specifically for the removal of linoleum and glue. after you remove the linoleum use very hot water to remove the gle. Its simple easy and cheap. The tool is almost like a shovel. Just ask for it. It shouldnt take more than 20-30 mins on a 10x20.

I ripped my linoleum off my hardwood floor...it was TOUGH! What I wound up doing was just ripping the linoleum off, and rented a floor sander, and made SEVERAL passes until I wore away the glue, and was finally left with a nice result. Don't get discouraged, I did this to about 700 sq. ft., took me about 3 days total. But it's worth it in the end!

DON'T use oil based products. It will make it impossible to get new linoleum to stick.

Pull the lino up and remove the remainder with white vinegar and vigorous scrubbing. It takes a lot of work. Just did it to a mobilehome kitchen.

tear the linoleum off after cutting into it gently. scrape what you can off with a scraper and then the sander will redo the rest.
It is best to resand and finish the wood underneath to get the glue off as well as any glue stains.

oil, there are types of oil that will act as a solvent and loosen the glue without hurting the wood

gentle scraping......I would try calling a wood flooring specialist too, it might be easier to have the floor refinished by a professional.
