Fine with the Dachshund! I have 2, have had four at one time and have fostered for a Dachshund Rescue. I've some mutts, a large historical Chocolate Labrador and an American Pit Bull Terrier. What advice i would supply someone due to the fact the bully breed is pretty simple: 1) Do your homework. Study the breed. Totally. 2) in case you are a sofa potato, fail to remember it. 3) You have got to have a dominant, assertive nature, otherwise this breed will stroll far and wide you 4) know this breed has a bad repute as a result of ignorance and be prepared to encounter individuals who will hate you and your canine. 5) Get equipped for severe coaching. Exercising is a have to. You cannot over activity an APBT. 6) strengthen your coaching daily. 7) Socialize your canine from the starting. People, kids, different dogs and animals. 8) teach your dog NO tooth ON HUMAN FLESH right away. They're giant mouthers and their 'nibbling/biting' hurts like hell. Coach them not ever to touch flesh with their mouths. 9) Ignore media hype and make your canine a just right illustration of what this breed is relatively all about.

Beagles bay. It's like howling, but it can sometimes get annoying. Every time I walk 2 houses down and the dog is awake, [which it normally is] it yips, barks, smashes against the window. But I am not saying all beagles do that. I would hope not.
Happy Holidays! :-]

Almost any kind of hunting dog with howl. Especially if they are trained to do so when they find their catch. We had a blue tick and also a hound, and they howled all the time. Basset hounds are good for that too.

No it isn't an odd question. Hound dogs are the howlers. I had a Basset hound that used to howl only at night. She wasn't much of a barker but she did like to howl. I thought it was cute.

All dogs can do what you are asking. Mine do and they are all differant breeds. even labs. Whenever i leave they let the whole neighborhood know by howling, they hear a train they howl and when they hear sirens, they even howl with the coyotes, it can get annoying but i have gotten pretty accustomed to it.

From what I understand, any dog can howl. Whether instinctively or trained. The hound dogs do it best, since it is part of who they are.
But, here's your thrown loop: I have a pit bull who howls with me and the rat terrier and sheltie we live with. Big deep ROOOOOooooooo.

I had a wolf hybrid that howled from the time i got him. I dont recomend wolves or hybrids though. He was shot after killing a full sized steer. They always have that wild instinct and I would never get another like that. I loved the dog, he was sweet with people and sheep ( go figure ) but with cattle and deer he had a very strong drive to hunt and kill. I have also had two mutts that howled. Both blue heeler mixes.

Not an odd question at all, Beagles do a thing called baying. It's sort of like a howl but different, its pretty darn cute! In moderation.

I have a Black Lab that thinks that he is a singing sensation!!!!
But seriously most every dog will howl at one time or another. But it is usually the hunting dogs that are the worst.
