It is normal but after awhile it will become painful. Once you are able to chane out your tongue ring you may want to purchase a tongue ring with a shorter bar. I have found those are the only ones that are comfortable enough to wear.

Its either because your tongue is swollen or because the barbell is too short. If is it causing you pain or is a true concern, you should visit your piercer. Once swelling goes down (after 3-10 days) you will have to see the piercer so they can downsize the barbell and you should feel better once that happens.

Just keep it clean, suck on ice chips and take Motrin or Midol for pain and swelling. Avoid spicy and acidic foods and you'll be fine.

It could be A.) Your tounge it still a little swollen B.) The bar is too small for your tonge it shouldn't be too tight. I've had mine done... so yes its normal.

You should clean it... the best thing to do is brush your teeth after you eat and rinse with listerine. Doing that can also make the swelling go down...

Your tongue is going to nevertheless be swollen from getting it pierced. It sounds as though the bar you're starting to be in isn't long sufficient. You do could pass back and get them to take a glance.

is your tongue still swollen?
If it is then yes.
Your tongue swells to twice the size when you get it pierced.
remember to baby your piercing. Clean it out when you eat ect and try not to talk/move it too often.

If you are really worried about it
go back to your piercer
or call him/her.

But if your tongue is just really swollen then there is no room for the ball to move then dont worry about it.

This happened to me when I first got it done. It is normal. Just keep that bar moving around to keep it from healing to the ball and use biotene on a regular basis to keep your mouth free of germs.
