Is it really that hard for ya'll to understand the concept of faith? From some of the things I see ya'll say; it seems like faith is like calculus or triganometry to ya'll.It just goes completely over your heads.

Is it really that hard to grasp the concept of faith?

Hebrews 11:1-Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Now the word substance refers to what something is made up of; example:water, water is made up of 2 parts Hydrogen and 1 part Oxygen. In the same way substance of a prayer refers to everything you want, need,or hope to get from God."Evidence of things not yet seen.";although you dont see what you're praying for yet, you must continue to believe that God is going to fullfill your prayer/request.

Hebrews 11:6-But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Again, what's hard to uderstand about faith?

I understand faith. I just put none of mine in your god.

Um...."non-believers" still have faith, just not yours. Atheists, Jews, Muslims, Bhuddists, Hindus, Agnostics, Scientologists, etc all have faith positions that are on equal footing with Christianity in the eyes of God. Lighten up, Okay?

We don't have a problem with the definition of faith, so much as why some people choose to put it in such silly things. I guess you could say that you can ONLY put faith in something silly, since otherwise it wouldn't be faith. Fine. Do what you like.
Some of us prefer to believe in what is, in all probability, the truth. Can you understand that?

I understand what 'faith' means; it doesn't sound like you do. All 'faith' means is acceptance without evidence. Why in the world would I want to accept something that doesn't have a single shred of physical evidence to support it?

I have faith in lots of things, so i understand what it means, is it really that hard for you to understand the concept of people not having faith in your god

Because we've already made our choice. We're just here to accept it.
No. It's like you have a partner on another side of the world whom you've never meet and probably will never meet until you die. the point is, this person might not exist. he or she might just be a hoaxer playing on your feelings. if you believe in that person because he or she says that he or she is for real, would you? that is called faith. In the case of God, it is even more crazy. people tell you that he is for real. but you have never seen him, nor you're going to see him until you're dead. are you even sure he created you or is going to be with you for the rest of your life? or you just believe blindy. what proof do you have of his existance? i, for one would just move on and find someone who i can be with for the rest of my life. perhaps you can "be" with your partner while you're talking on the phone, but that is not what i want. So, i hope you understand how i feel.

Faith, I understand, I happen to put faith in a lot of things. My dog, for instance will bite your a** if you come into my house, THAT I can put faith in. BLIND FAITH on the other hand, that's a whole different story.

It's not hard for me to understand what faith is, I just can't understand why it is so easy for so many to just "have faith" in something that just doesn't seem logical. If I'm going to have faith in something, it's going to be something that actually makes sense to me.

Faith=Believing without evidence.

WTF would you ever believe anything without evidence?

Doesn't faith sound like something Hitler would try to install in the SS so they would kill jews without any valid reason?

Edit: I think 'The Dude' came up with the perfect answer. GJ mate.
