I trained my dog to sit by getting a treat (or if you don't want treats, you can use a piece of dog food) and putting it in the dog's face. Make sure the dog doesn't get the food/treat from you and slowly move your hand back and over the dog's head. The dog's head should follow the treat, and it will probably sit down. If you need to, while you are moving your hand, take your other hand and push down to make the dog sit. Say "sit" and give the dog the treat/food. It worked wonders for my dog, Spike! Good luck!

Put a treat in your hand, let The dog smell the treat to get his attention. Hold the treat above the dog's head, then move the treat toward the tail end. The dog will have to look so far back it's easier for him to sit. It doesn't take very long, and I have even been able to teach my cats to sit on command.

patience understanding and lots of small puppy treats. putting light pressure on his rear and repeating sit in a calm voice, with rewards and lots of praise for sitting. Shouldn't take more then a few days. Remember short sessions or the dog will become bored.

Halti collar is the best training tool to get your dog to obey. It wraps aroung their muzzle and head. It only hurts them if they pull on it, forcing it to tighten. Give the 'sit' command...make sure you have a treat....and then give the collar a little tug. Give the treat ONLY if the dog listens. They will usually do whatever you want for food.
