There's a song by Blackmore's night called "Loralei." (It's a really cool song, too.) And yes, the mythology is behind it, but that's ok, I think Loralei's were referred to as either sirens or mermaids. Just be prepared for her to have the nickname "Lori" or "Lora."

Loralei will be asked the rest of her life "How is your name spelled?" and "Am I pronouncing your name right?"

You might want to change the spelling to Loralee so people know automatically how to pronounce it when they see it, and how to spell it when they hear it.

The name sounds beautiful.

It's a very pretty-sounding name, but the mythology behind it is negative, to put it mildly. The Lorelei sang beautiful songs to lure sailors to their deaths on a rock in the Rhine River!

i think most people will think of "gilmore girls" when they hear this name because it's both the mom and daughter's names in that show. but i dont think thats a bad thing. i think it's pretty. and you can use "rorie" as a nickname.

Too common because of the Gilmore girls!!! I'd suggest going for a name less in vogue.

It has a pretty ring to it. I know a mom who named her daughter that.
