I have heard of new antivirals on the market you can get from your doctor at the onset of the flu to lessen the duration and symptoms. Personally, I have never taken them.
To build up your immune system, I suggest either a good multiple which includes C, E, B complex, also include Quercitin, NAC and becareful with the A (don't take more than 5,000units per day).
Eating healthy is important as is exercise. No sodas, no fatty foods. Drink lots of water. If you can eat organic, do so. Wash hands often, especially after being in public places. You may want to consider a flu shot yearly (before November).

I am not a Dr but what helps is the thera flue tea, resting, lots of water, warm 7up and crackers, soups, but mostly rest. antibiotics will not help the flue it is a viral infection so you should stay home because you can get other ones sick, put a humidifier in the room. if your throat hurts gargle with salt water. if you feel really bad I would go see the Dr. good luck
