Im doing a report and one of the topics are proverbs. This is what i need to know

Proverbs are pearls, nuggets, etc.... of wisdom.
The bible has a book of Proverbs.
They have been written since people have had something to write with.
They were written to help people with problems encountered while living.

proverb is synonym for sayin, it comes from Latin proverbium.
Proverbium est brevis verborum series obscuram in se continens sententiam specified Latins...
when? In any time and always, every culture has its own and they usually date back to ancient times of the popular culture.
why? Because popular knowledge is handed down more easily by quick, smart, easy to remember sentences than any other way.
And yes, there are different types of proverbs if you consider them as part of speech and then according to the various stylistic features they have they are different.
