You can do good things on the Sabbath.
-- He said to them, "If any of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will you not take hold of it and lift it out? How much more valuable is a man than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath" -- Matthew 12:11-12
You wont be condemned for getting sick on the Sabbath.
I think you can pretty much make up your own rules for how to keep the Sabbath "holy". One may want to fast all day, another may not want to engage in some form of entertainment, another may just want to spend the day in prayer and religious study, etc. The Sabbath is what you make it.

Not working on Saturday was a law God gave to the Israelites to test their faith that He would provide for them. It isn't a "moral" law and following God's laws doesn't earn anyone a place in Heaven. Jesus came so that we could be justified in God's sight apart from the law. In fact, one of the major disagreements that the religious Jews of his day had with Him had to do with his healing people on the Sabbath. The Sabbath law pointed to the rest that believers can find through faith in Christ (Hebrews 4). Instead of being like the Pharisees of Jesus' day who would put fine cloth over their drinking glasses in order to strain out an unclean insect that might have gotten into their wine when they weren't looking we who believe in Christ have been freed from the ceremonial requirements of the law.
Matthew 23: 23"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill and cummin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former. 24You blind guides! You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel.

The son of man is Lord of the sabbath therefore if something must be done do it. However you should try to make sure you get your things done so you can remeber the sabbath and keep it holy.

Its called honoring the sabbath. You're not suppose to go to work, but I don't believe it says anything about not helping others, just not suppose to go to work, go shopping, that kind of stuff. If you're sick, you're sick, I don't see what you're getting at there.

It won't. Are you saying that Saturday is the Sabbath, and if so why does everybody keep Sunday and where in the Bible did Jesus change it?
