Sometimes when you've been on birth control for a while it can throw things off for a while. I would go to your gynecologist to have everything checked out. Perhaps you're not ovulating. But remember that some people who are perfectly healthy just take a little longer to conceive.

A friend of mine that I work with told me she's on the birth control shot and she says it takes about a year from the time you stop getting it to have it fully wear off. I'm pretty sure it doesn't completely sterilize you. I would consult your doctor, especially if you are trying to get pregnant. If you're not taking any prenatals, it would be a good idea to start and your doctor can prescribe some for you. Hope my advice helps!

Your period is just the lining of your uterus coming off. When you are on birth control your ovaries shut down so an egg does not release. You still have your period just no egg. When you stop birth control your ovaries need to start working again, it takes a while. Usually if you have been trying for a year, with no luck, they tell you to get checked out. Good Luck.

After getting off of Depo-provera it may take anywhere from 18 months to 2 years to ovulate again in order to conceive. You should have known all of this before even getting the shot and you should be aware of what things do to your body.

Its not true. It takes a long time for it to get out of your system thou. My sister in law had the shot for many years and it took over a year for her to get her period back on a normal schedule.
