Why does some children get born into starvation and poverty? Why does some children get born physically handicapped and why does some children get born into war-torn countries and broken homes? Isn't it obvious that random and carless change controls this world?

What is it that makes you believe that there is someone in charge of it all? If there is someone in charge of it, what makes you believe he/she is 'good'?

I am starting to believe in my 2 models of God's role: 1. God is like a biologist with control of a bacterial specimen. God can change large things, but not small, so God isn't actually playing any role in these children being born.

2. God is energy. This includes chance and fate as a yet unknown and always incomprehensible energy. This way, God runs the world, but not the way most people think of.

I don't believe that everything happens for a reason. I think it's just a phrase people tell others when they had just experienced some sort of failure.

You are quite right there are horriable things that happened in this world.
I know because i was sexually abuse as a child, and i could trun around and say well why did God let this happened to me?
what did i do wrong?. when i really didn't do anything at all wrong. and there were times i did say that and i said horrible things about God. But when i look back on everything that happen i can see God even thought i didn't believe in him he was there and he has save me over and over agian. because there was a big part of my life i just want to die but because all that had happend to me it made me stronger and also made me a better person, it gave me understanding of other people and how to help then, it was all part of Gods plan for me, I am now am a Christian who loves my Lord Jesus with all my heart and Soul. I no there are poeple and children out there that are staving But did you know God is working on these things do you know he has people in ministry that are doing Gods will
helping these little one and given them a food a good education
poeple that go in to other countries and risk there only lifes to help others I know two people that have Just come back from Indian
They could not even go out side all the time they were their because they were white they were over there for about a year or more, There will always be evil in this world but it is not from God
May the Spirit of Jesus Fill you and your Families with His Peace, Joy and Love this Christmas and for many years to Come, May he Bless you all Merry Christmas

To be used in a way that glorifies God....that's why. What makes me believe there is someone in charge of it all? Well, the opposite doesn't sound very reassuring. Chance....doesn't that make life and consciousness sound absurd. Why would we have the ability to reflect on something if there is no meaning in it and it just so happened by chance? Of course things happen for a reason and of course there is a meaning to life. What is the meaning of life? See the first sentence of my paragraph. What makes God good? The goodness of God is the only sensical argument.

Many religions in the Orient believe that where one is born is due to the effect of his/her own past actions (Karma), and that it is due to destiny. A forum like this cannot be used to explain this effectively. Perhaps you could read some books on the subject for this viewpoint.
Possibly these theories have been put forward to make people believe that if they do good things in this world, they would get rewards for this later, either in this world or, if they so believe, in their next lives. There is obviously no harm in following this belief, as it results in a better world!

what a lovely octagon star logo. Not everything happens for a reason. Reasons and meanings are mental constructs. We would be better of financially and in almost every aspect of life if we recognized the effects of chance and calculated it more for use in the decision process. Life is both random and chaotic. The order is the order of probability, not determinism.

You can believe or not that we choose the life we are born into. we choose the whole plan so that we can learn and perfect for God and ourselves. If you really think about it what would be the purpose if we had everything we wanted and everyone got along. It would be one boring screwed up world.

Everything does happen for a reason. Some of the things we cannot understand because we are not God. But if God were to show you His plan you would understand, but God does not need to explain Himself. He has His reasons for everything. And you people do not know the blessings of God. Even to be born is a blessing.

Why would you think that God would control where children are born? Men and women make babies. They do that everywhere. In my opinion, God does not get involved with us here.

I understand your point.

But just because we don't understand WHY something is happening, doesn't mean that it's not happening for a very good reason.

I know that's no argument for God(s)/Godess(es), but we should try to keep an open mind for the future.

god ( the All ) created doesn't mean he continually has control or influence over anything in all actuality God doesn't even exist in our level of reality , we are so far detached from God that we have no idea of his nature or purpose so why speculate.

I mean kinda would defeat the whole concept of humanities free will if something actively interferred with everyday reality
