My 3 yr old is very clingy. Not in a typical manner she seems to want contact in odd ways. She wants me to constantly touch her, either by holding her hand or touching her feet. She's been like this since she was born, but it wanes at times. Just recently she's needs the constant contact. She doesn't even really hold my hand, but will take my fingers and push them into her palm or her feet. It is getting very tiring I can't do anything without her intrusion.
Any idea why she does this and how to resolve it?

She is at that age. My daughter is doing that right now. She even has to sleep in bed with me. If I am sitting she is on my lap. if we are walking I have to not just hold her hand but squeeze her hand.If i am doing dishes she tries to get between me and the sink. I wish I could help you besides say its a phase and they will out grow it LOl My daughter is almost 5 now lol

I think it is a pediatrician issue. She may have some sensory hypersensitivity, which often responds to desensitizing therapy (therapists use bumpy balls, etc to provide other types of touch sensation).

you can reasure her that you won't be leaving her. or you can just play along with it,for instance you can maybe make a game out of it like i do my 7month old daughter. and she's clingy 2 might i add.
