I want to add cinnamon to some peanut butter cookies I'm making, but I really don't know how that will turn out. Has anybody ever tried anything like that? What would be good to add to peanut butter cookies to give them a little extra flavor besides, well, peanut butter?

That sounds awesome. I mix cinnamon and peanut butter and put it on bananas and it was delicious. You can also try nutmeg and cloves. Be careful with cloves- a little goes a long way. You can also try adding honey or Nutella (chocolate hazelnut spread) if you want a different twist.

Well do you like the flavor of peanut butter with cinnamon on it? if you do then those cookies may well work for you.

Other flavors that go with Peanut Butter - Chocolate, Apple, Spicy (Hot, like chilis).

One good spice that can be added to almost anything that you might bake (in small amounts) is nutmeg. It's an intriguing flavor and as long as you are not heavy with it, it accentuates the other flavors - very much like salt and pepper does with other foods. I know it sounds a bit "Hank Hill" but it's true.

The thing with baking, is that its highly precise chemistry. Changing things too much - and spice usually doesn't, but strong flavors may clash - can be bad. However there are any number of recipes that call for strong flavors, especially this time of year. Here's a link to a recipe for lebkuchen - a German Spice cookie thats very popular over the holidays.

Good Luck!

The cookie standards are cinnamon, cloves (ground, of course, not whole), cardamom, allspice, coriander, nutmeg or mace. Try one or more of those.

Try some lavender. They're putting it into many other things like applesauce.
It should give it that 'certain something different' taste.
