ok think about it, god make Lucifer angel of light, Lucifer rebelled angainst god and became the devil....so god made a mistake?
the same with adam and eve why did adam and eve eat the apples if god already knew they were going to eat the apple, this means god made the mistake and is punishing someone else for his mistake
any answers?

ok all you guys still havent answered my question because most of you have just said it was those peoples mistakes not gods.
Gods knew these people were going to make mistakes when he created them, and if he wanted to he could have created them not to make the mistake in the first place.
so why did he?

PONDER THIS:
I am your parent and I know you really well. I trust you to make good decisions based on what you know is right. However, I am aware that you could be tempted into making the wrong decision.
So...I let you go out to a party at the lake with some other friends, I know there will be alcohol at the party. I have taught you that underage drinking is wrong, getting in a car drunk is wrong whether you are driving or riding with someone drunk.
Still, I know that you will be tempted to drink because everyone else is. Even with this knowledge, I let you go.
Now you have freedom of choice. You can drink or not drink. If YOU drink, I have not made a mistake because it was you, with your freedom of choice to drink, who did.
I hope this makes sense as I rarely do, lol.

Oblong - I am sorry we cannot answer the question the way you want it answered but I see a lot of excellent, thoughtful answers here. Sometimes there are questions that just cannot be answered. None of us can speak for God or his plan for mankind.
Okay...to finish my analogy for you. Yes, I KNEW you would drink at the party and I knew you would be caught but since I gave you freedom of choice of right or wrong, I had to let you go and do this so you woud realize the consequences of your bad choice.

When God created Lucifer he was perfect just like a little child is born innocent. He obviously had free will also because he made a choice to rebel against God. God does not make mistakes. If he gives free will to us he does not violate that free will. We then have the choice to do whatever. Just because he knows we are going to do the wrong thing doesn't mean he is going to stop us from making our wrong choice. Imagine a parent putting everything aside like going to work just to make certain there child would not do anything bad all day long!
Lucifer, Adam, and Eve made mistakes, not God. He can see all of our past, present, and future so he knows what he is doing.

Okay, God does not make mistakes. For us to have free will, lucifer had to be thrown out of heaven. In heaven everything is good, right? With an absence of an opposite (satan), there was no right or wrong, everything was just normal. There was no options, so for free will to exist, there had to be a choice. Does that make sense? (I have a M.A. in philosophy, but I'm ill at the moment and finding it hard to say this right).
So now, because we have a choice (of good and evil) we have free will. Free will exists, and God knows the choices we make before we make them. That does not mean we do not have free will. God allowed this to happen in order to create free will for us.
Next point (and I also studied Biblical Hebrew at Uni), there is no mention that the fruit was an apple. Anyway, same argument in principle, If Adam and Eve were not allowed the choice of eating the apple then free will would never existed and God knew this. He gave Adam and Eve a choice, and they ate of the fruit. Remember, God let the snake into Eden for that purpose: to give them choice. One could argue that contrary to your argument there was no choice, but in the fact of they had to eat of the fruit for the rest of us today to have free will. God knew they would eat of the fruit which gave them free will and, in doing so, came some other things, such as pain of childbirth, etc.
God did not punish us, He gave us free will, which is more than his beloved angels got. Nor did God make any mistake.

Well I see what mistakes you it does to all people.God does know everything but the free will comes in when he lets u decide what you want to do.When God made Lucifer he knew what would happen because God never makes mistakes he does everything on purpose because he wants us to believe him. God is not punishing anyone for his mistakes because truthfully the fault was in Satan himself. When God made him he put him in the highest position as an angel but not God but Satan choose to sin and be like God,this caused him to fall and so not that God likes to but because Satan choose to make a mistake he was thrown down.Simply he was being punished for his own actions. I will write more another time but now i need to go
