My little sister is getting married next year and has found a bed and breakfast nearby that will handle invitations, printed napkins, the cake and buffet for up to 100 people. They provide location, a room for the bride to ready in and a room for the night. They provide all the chairs and do clean up.

They handle all this for just over $3000, and the location is beautiful (I have stayed there). I keep telling my sister this is an exceptional deal, anyone else have opinions?

Well my place is a beautiful hall and it includes the dinner, dj, invitations, cake, alcohol and gratutity for $29 plate. For 100 people it would $2900 before tax. So I would think it was a decent deal. The only thing you didn't mention was alcohol and dj, but they do get a room for the bride and groom for the night. Our deal is a wedding special they were running and we are getting married in February (off season). I think getting married at bed and breakfast would be really nice.

Try not too be too pushy with your sister because it is her wedding and it is really hard on a bride with everyones opinions coming at her - and everyone has an opinion about everything! It is super hard!!!

HELL YEAH! That's awesome! Cake, invitations, a room for the night? R U kidding me? Ok, where is this place? I am from Louisiana, and mine is costing me probably in the neighborhood of 6 grand or more My caterer is handling the reception for 150 people, cake and napkins included. The photog is $1000; the DJ is about $250.00
In order for me to cut costs, I bought my dress on ebay (it's lovely by the way... & brand new." I had my future sister-in-law do our bouquets and I'm splitting the costs of the church flowers with another bride that is having her wedding the same day as mine.
Girl... she needs to snap that up! Good luck and Congratulations to her!

thats a really good deal, if she likes the place and all. then i think you've got a good deal. usually hotel places cost around $5000. and then you have to provide food, and some other little stuff, but a bed and breakfast is great for 100 people.

That sounds pretty good to me!

Our whole wedding cost us $13,000 and that was EVERYTHING - from my dress to shoes, flowers, photographer, everything!!!! I think that what your sister has been quoted is a really good deal.

Plus, there are other ways to cut costs - make your own invitations, i had my bridesmaids buy their own dresses & pick them so they could wear them again, they were happy with this, instead of having your big day filmed professionally get someone with a deceant video camera to film for you, we had 2 people do this & had great shots from different angles & then i had bits of both combined onto a dvd for $100 - BARGAIN!

Whatever it costs, if its what she wants then dont argue with her, you NEVER ARGUE WITH A BRIDE! LOL

All the best to you & your sister :O)

My budget is 20,000 it is costing me 6000 just to feed everyone we are also having an open bar that is not part of the budget as my fiance is paying for that as my parents won't.
So I would say about 20000 is average.
That is an awesome deal though! Especially for what you are getting for it.

That sounds like a great deal. We spent just under $20K and we're regretting it. If the location is right..tell her to go for it!

That is a fantastic deal!! You might want to look into a seated dinner, instead of the buffet because it is much more personal. For 3k though it is a great price!!

it depends all on what you want. times are changing and nothing stays the same anymore. i was married the first time in 2001 and my entire wedding cost about $16,000. my sencond wedding was just recenly this past april and it cost us around $26,000. but check around and dont jump too quick into the contracts. shop around.
