Of course the Earth will still be here after humans are gone! Duh! The point is that dramatic climate change would likely cause lots of misery and death to humans.

Well, a lot of Scientists feel that we are in a period where we need to act - globally and dramatically - within the next ten to twenty years.

Some feel we have already reached a tipping point and it's too late to stop it.

We don't know everything there is to know yet, so that leads me to believe that there are options that we have not yet explored (for instance, it was recently discovered that there are vast lakes of frozen CO2 underneath the ocean floor in certain places. We could capture CO2 atmospherically and freeze it and inject it into these "Holding Lakes" to help alleviate the problem). There is more to learn.

Humans are endlessly inventive. We will survive. Not all of us, and we wont be quite what we are today, but we WILL survive.

We will never reduce greenhouse emissions. We are all going to die! You don't really believe that garbage, do you? Did you know that one volcanic eruption puts more greenhouse gasses (as you like to call them) into the atmosphere than man has ever put into the air! The Earth also goes through natural warming and cooling cycles! Right now, we are in a warming cycle. Some day there will also be another ice age! Remember, if you drive a car and fart, you are also contributing to the environmental catasrophe!

The real problem is u don't know what is green house gas and what is not. Don't worry there are millions that have been dukes just like u. The first and worst gas is CO2 .but don't be stupid as mother nature has taken care of this for millions of years. It is the plants recycle the air ,and they take out the CO2 and give us back oxygen. The process is called photosynthesis look it up and understand where the CO2 went. and don't just be so gullible now.

The 'environmental catastrophy' so many people are worried about is not much more than politics. The Earth's damage by humans is relatively minor, and it will recover no matter what we do. Earth will be here and be just fine, long after humans are gone.

Actually we have enough oil to keep the world running like it is for decades to come, nearly a century. The only thing that would change our dependancy is the creation of a different form of transportation or a different engine. I hope this comes to pass sooner than we cause major damage to the environment.

Pretty good I think. We will run out of oil soon enough. As long as we don't start using coal more to replace it, we will be OK.
