I've gone into other subjects on Y!A and questions don't seem to get pushed down the list as fast as in this subject. I honestly think it's because so many post here only to ridicule Christians and other religions more than ask an honest question about the religions themselves! What a big waste of time and energy!! If people don't want to be in a part of a religion, why do they need to make fun of the people who have chosen to be in religion? What’s your take?

More questions get posted here because you have two basic groups of people that have a vested interest in the question about God and Jesus. On the one hand you have Christians who have been commanded by Christ to go out in the world and tell people the good news and to teach them about what Jesus had commanded.

On the other hand you have people who don't want to have to worry that they might be making a mistake about their eternal destiny. Just like Adam and Eve they want to be wise like God and not have to answer to their Creator for doing things their own way instead of His.

People who are in denial often spend long hours trying to convince others that what they believe about their lives is true and that they don't need to change. They seek out co-dependents who will help make them feel better about themselves by joining in and saying that they are doing just fine and don't need any help "thank-you".

Then there are the people who just come here with legitimate questions whether it be about Jesus or Buddha or ghosts or spirits, etc.

It's because people have a LOT of questions and comments about religions. Everyone has their doubts and beliefs.
Humans NATURALLY want to know more about everything, but it seems that religion is one constant that everyone Still has questions about. Religion is one of the only things that you can not find a Concrete answer that is backed by physical proof.
I grew up in Church (Pentecostal) and I am still lost about religion.

Part of it is because there are actually two different forums going on here. One is religious types, mostly Christians, who want this to be all about religious types. The other is people who want to talk about religions as philosophy, social and psychological phenomena, history, etc.

The rancor occurs when the former start insisting that their way is the only way and diss the rest of us for wanting to have our conversations.

Unfortunately, some people have no better time to improve themselves, so they mock everything under the sun. The spirituality section strikes a chord in many people and these joyhounds prefer to come here and ride their pony into the sunset.
Some people can't grow up, their diapers are stuck.

We are America, the land of the free not land of the brainwashed. Religion is nothing but brainwashing. There are more brainwashed people than there are those who are not brainwashed, therefore, this is the reason why there are so many questions posted in the 'religion/spirituality' section. For some unknown reason, 'religious' people seem to think they are superior to everyone else - they really aren't - they are just more brainwashed than others.
I knew a family, years ago, who were going through some difficulties; the husband was unemployed. He was out there everyday looking for a job - he finally found one and was working again. When I spoke with his wife - she stated "it was God who gave my husband the job". I just looked at her and thought to myself 'if he had not answered the job ad then he'd still be unemployed - it had nothing to do with God'. A few weeks later, I was having a conversation with her about some financial issues I was having - her response "God will help you with your bills - don't worry about it". No one, but me, paid my bills. My landlord certainly wasn't going to wait for God to pay my rent for me - either I paid it or move out. I just do not believe in the 'religious brainwashing' going on. I believe in God but I'm realistic and I know I'm the only responsible for my bills.

Atheists have a tendency to be proactive of their rejection of non secular beliefs. a number of them sense insecure about the void of their own non-conception gadget and are engaged in opposite proselytizing, attempting to transform believers into non-believers. atheists. they look to need agency. over the years are nicely conscious that they have got each and every "precise" to reject God. As one pundit reported, "if you're an atheist and do not trust in God once you die, you had extra perfect be precise!" in case you ever get a letter from a deceased atheist, you'll discover the perimeters of the paper it really is written on are burned and the parting salutation is particularly a lot continually "Singedcerely" or "WARMly" or some thing like that.

It carries a broad spectrum of personalities. Everything from mentally retarded to brilliant although the brilliant is rare. Everyone is looking for a reason for the insanity that surrounds us all.

Everyone is religious whether they know or not and whether they like it or not. The only thing I can figure is that their religion is to ridicule those who think differently than they do.
