When I am having a headache they give me the 1-10 scale and i give them a 4, they ask why I'm there, I explain it works like a Richter scale. I've been shot, w/ vest on by 9mm (that hurts), broke a foot, had kidney stones, been cut with a knife, when we were kids we shot a each other with pellet guns. I was so made at the lackadaisical attitude of an RN, that I took a big paperclip unfolded it a jammed it right through my check, I said that doesn't even begin to hurt, but my headache is killing me. I usually am not dramatic but it had been 36 hours and I was sick of waiting in bright, noisy, fluorescent lights. I got a shot of Ativan and a psych consult but they understood when pain management talked with ER nursing, that why I carry my medical records with me where ever I go! Anyway head pain gets worse with lights, and aggravating factors, regular pain, no problem medically necessary.

I have a reasonably low emotional pain threshold these days. I have shattered my emotions into jagged pieces held together by spit and sawdust.
As for physical pain I have managed to injure myself so often over the years and get into so many accidents that I don't notice most minor injuries these days. I really should take care of myself better. I guess when I die I won't get back my deposit.

I found getting a tattoo over about an hour really painful and totally exhilarating. I wanted to go straight back in and do it again.
Normally I hate pain but somehow that felt like a good thing.

Lol.good question,I have had 4 children with no pain relief, and according to the experts that is the worse pain anyone can experience.
Do you also know that people with brown eyes can tolerate pain much more than people with blue eyes. This is a medical fact.

Well I know for a fact, following a dare many years ago, that I can nail my hand to a desk. So I guess my threshold is pretty high!

Physical pain 3 children, one stillborn at 40 weeks, had to give a natural birth, bad but I got over it eventually. Mental pain is worse, people can see the physical side but not the Mental side. XXX

I have had two back surgeries (1973 & 1975) ever since then I have lived in chronic pain with my back, but if you ever knew me you would think I don't have any pain. I can tolerate pain so much more than others.

Anyone that enjoys receiving or giving pain, has to be twisted in the head.
Anyone that enjoys receiving or giving pain, and denies being twisted in the head are even more twisted.
