Many people often tout that to God, a day is like a (hundred, thousand, million) days... yet there is Zero biblical reference to this.

This is due to a "corrective" bood 2nd Peter 3:8 that states that time was different for God. (how convenient in the rewriting...!!!)

C.S. Lewis predicted the christians that do not believe totally in God, hence those that partially believe that everything is as God says he called "Christians in Water" over 50 years ago.

The creative days were not 24 hours each, but rather stand for long periods of time.

2 Peter 3:8: " However, let this one fact not be escaping YOUR notice, beloved ones, that one day is with Jehovah as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day."

So we see that a day is not necessarily 24 hours, but can stand for a measurement of God's time as well. Creation very obviously took much more than 6 days as we count time. God set the laws of physics, we discovered that there were such laws.

To start with, people who say the Bible says the world is only 6,000 years old are wrong. Since it says that relative to God a thousand years is like a day, then the Bible never says how old the earth is. Quit listening to religious authorities and read it for yourself. The fundamentalists need to learn the fundamentals.

I'm a Christian. I don't necessarily believe that the world was created 6,000 years ago...I don't think anyone but God knows the exact age of the earth. But even so, I don't see what that has to do with our ability to reach out to the stars....

I am primitive baptist and don't see any conflict with space exploration, its a very exciting time now for people that appreciate our ability to go beyond our simple little planet. What I find interesting is that many astronauts are quite religious. God won't let us go anywhere we aren't meant to be......I wish I had seen the lift off last night, or the planetary alignment this morning!

EARTH IS EARTH AND AGE OF EARTH IS AGE OF EARTH AS A PLANET

WORLD IS WORLD AND AGE OF WORLD IS AGE OF WORLD FROM ADAM AND EDEN

The bible math is correct.

The age of the earth and the age of the world are different.
People misrepresent things.

Gen.1:1,2 [ The earth and all exist here, it is evident ];
Gen.1:3 [ Earth is a focus for preparation here ];
Gen.1:11,12 [ Earth is a focus for plant life, plant life a priority,
needed extra light through earth protection shield, with seasons ];
Earth existing and in preparation ages, eras and eons before man
begans his time in the world from Adam to #10 son Noah,
to #20 son Abraham and family to Moses and half a million Promised
Land heirs, to #34 son David, Solomon and Judah kings to
#48 son Zedekiah at Babylon Empire #3, captivity? 606 years
to # 62 son Jesus in Roman Empire #6. Matt.1:1-17;
To now in 2006 years after Jesus.
Rev,20:1-6 [ No Satan ]; The 1000 year reign of Christ,
to all is perfect as before Eden.

TIMES AS GIVEN IN THE BIBLE
2Pet.3:5 [ heavens and earth old ];
2Pet.3:8 [ 1000 years as 1 day, = LORD ];
Psm.77:5 [ years of ancient times ];
Psm.90:2 [ earth and the world ];
Eph.1:4 [ Foundation of the world ];
Eph.3:5 [ Other ages ]; 2:7 [ future ages ];
Col.1:26 [ from ages and generations ];
Job.38:4-7 [Foundation of the earth ];
