Well when I got the puppy as a birthday present I did have money. but I just recently got fired and I'm looking for work. I have tons of food for her that was givin to me when I got her. I do have some money coming soon but not soon enough. It just sucks that I have to wait longer than I want to get her help. I love her so much and I just want her to get better. thank you all for your answers. It means a lot.

Deworming medicine isn't that expensive I normaly have to give two of my dogs it once or twice yearly so don't woory about that & you don't have to go to the vet you can medicine that will help ai apet shop or where I get mine a super Walmart, just make sure to get the dewormer that won't hurt him even if he doesn't.

I'm sorry, but I agree with most of your other answerer's in that if you can't even afford worming medicine, you don't need a dog. How are you going to pay for routine vaccinations (that need to be done at 8 12 and 16 weeks?) how are you going to pay for this pet to get spayed?
I personally find it irresponsible for both you to have a puppy with no means of taking care of it, and for the adoption agency to have allowed someone without money to adopt a dog.
Cancel your internet subscription and cell phone, stop smoking (if you do), stop going to movies and eating out and you will be amazed at the kind of money you can save every month!

You should not just buy something from the store, you NEED to take it to the vet. You do not know what kind of worms the dog has, and NO ONE, can diagnose over the internet.
You have the risk of making your dog ill, or killing it if you use the stuff from the store without consulting a vet.
Ok your orig. questions said "i just recently got a new puppy from a local adoption agency", and then you said you got it as a present. Stick with one story.
If you can't afford the vet, you can't afford the pet.

Not to sound unkind, but if you can't even afford to have your puppy dewormed, then the adoption agency should not have even let you take the puppy. This is minor in comparison to what the dog may eventually need to have vet treatment for. Take the puppy back to the shelter and explain your situation. Perhaps they will do the deworming for a lesser amount, or perhaps they will advise you to return the puppy until you are more financially stable.

um well Walmart sells wormer for like $10....if you can't afford that you never ever should have gotten a dog. You need to get a brand that covers all worms too.......there are several at walmart but only one kind that covers them all. You don't need a vet to do this. Worms can make a pup very sick if you leave it like that......and it will become malnourished.

Heartworm Prevention is only available through a licensed Veterinarian, it cannot be purchased in the supermarket and to be purchased online, you will need a perscription from your vet. You should also have your pup dewormed by your vet and avoid the over the counter medications as they are not as safe as what your vet would use.

Bring her back to where you got her. If you can't pay for worm treatment, are you going to be able to pay for heartworm preventative? Regular checkups and shots? Spaying her?
It is far kinder to return her now as a puppy when she is more "adoptable" than to wait until something bad happens that you can't afford and giving her up then.
Sorry.

I don't mean to sound rude, but you need to borrow some money or sell something. If your dog isn't treated, the worms could kill him or her. If it's still a puppy, it won't take very long either :-(

all puppies have worms, they get it from the mothers milk and they have to be wormed frequently or they can reinfest. The best over the counter wormer for puppies i have found is nemex 2 and it is about 6 dollars a bottle. follow instructions carefully you can overdose the puppy and make it sick or kill it.
