Your mom doesnt want you to have one for good reason. Men meet underage girls on myspace, People target teenagers (Im assuming you're a teenager or there abouts?) If you really have to have one, make it private so only your friends have it. tell her you'll let her see your friends list every so often so she can see that its only the people you know in real life on your buddy list.

How old are you? You have to be at least 16 to have a myspace from what I remember- they made all profiles of those under 18 automatically private.
Tell your mom that you will be careful and keep your profile private. Parents' worrying about kids on myspace are right to do so. Kids are stupid and naive no matter how mature you think you are. I have seen some pretty stupid **** going on in myspace. 30 year old guys messaging 16 year olds and getting their IM then building trust and eventually agreeing to meet. You may think it won't happen- but the guy will seem soooo nice...or girl whatever. the point is- it's dangerous.
and truthfully- it's a stupid waste of time (as is yahoo answers really) but seriously- all this tv and internet bull is why the kids today are so lazy and stupid (at least in the US). Read a book!

try another space that isn't so infamous.
You live with your parents and they make the rules, fair or not those are the ruled. I know it is hard to be different than the other kids. If kids ask why you don't have a myspace tell them that it is sooooooooooo childish and you don't want to waste your time there. Mean it.
I am sure you can get a profile on yahoo 360 or something.
Your parents love you and just don't want any of the crazyness of myspace to mess you up thats all.
Some people, not just kids have had their life messed up because of myspace.
Your parents can butt in, they make the rules until you move out of the house. You either fight them all the way and make your life and theirs misserable or you co operate and just work on getting 18 so you can move out and make your own choices. Why make life misserable for everyone.
If they don't like your choice, just make another choice and start your own trend.

For some reason you seem familar like a friend of mine and have the same name too. Anyways with that said, maybe your best solution to the problem is not to worry about it, because what do you truely gain from it. I know that doesnt help with your problem but if you truely want a myspace, explain to your mother that you just want to be apart of the crowd, and want to use myspace as a way to express yourself over the internet with your friends. Also add in the fact that she would be free to browse your activities on the site, and that there would be no worries because your not going to fall into the traps of the world.

Well I have heard many parents say that you can have a myspace as long as theres nothing on it you would be embarassed to have your parents see. If I were you and I really wanted myspace I would let my mom know that the profile would be set to private so only your friends would be able to see it and that you would have no personal info about yourself on it. Also you could let her know what you are doing on the computer. I think parents get worried when their child is being secretive about things for example not letting their parents see what they are doing online etc.

I know you don't want your mom butting in -- but that's probably exactly the reason she doesn't want you to have one.
Why don't you see if she'd want to set one up together? You could do it that way for a while, see what happens, build up some trust ... and then maybe she'll let you have one of your own, once she sees you can be responsible about it.

Let Her Watch you go on myspace once..if she thinks its ok than maybe she will let you have one..
also if you do get one, let her read your comments, picture commments, messages, etc. every once in a while-- this way she is aware of what you are doing and who you are talking to over the world wide web

I personally think Myspace is unsafe. Your mom might just want your personal life NOT spread on the internet.
