Dating shouldnt be viewed as recreation. Date when you are mature enough to marry. Date because you want to possibly have a future with this person. You may not marry the first person you date, but with this mindset you will avoid a lot of unneccessary relationships, and thus a lot of unnecessary heartbreak.

There is no "nugget of knowledge" that will make all relationships work in this category, but there are some things that are pretty important when you "go out" with someone as a teen.
1. Don't be too insecure. If your boyfriend is talking to another girl or even looking at them, don't worry; you'd get an instinct that he'd be cheating on you if he were.
2. Don't be clingy -- pretty obvious. If you follow him around like a sick puppy, it will get on his nerves eventually.
3. Don't try to impress him to the point of not being yourself. Sure it's cool to have a lot in common, but if you starting watching wrestling or something out of nowhere and he knows you never liked it before or even really like it now, it'll look pretty corny. It's fine to do something he likes to do so you can talk about it, though, but don't overdo it or pursue the SAME conversation incessantly.
4. Don't deliberately try to make him jealous. If you start feeling like you're drifting apart or you want more attention, there are other ways of making him notice you again -- like walking with him, talking to him, and sitting with him.
5. Here's a big one: be confident. Confidence is very important! The more confident you are, the easier it will be to have a relationship for both of you.
6. Don't give him pet names. Big no-no. Just call him by his real name.
7. Be yourself -- if he can't like you for who you really are, that's his problem, because he'll be missing out. It would be no fun to have to put on a mask to keep him around.
Hope this helps -- these are pretty obvious things, but they're also very vital for a healthy relationship. And remember...teen love never lasts, but it can be very sweet and very helpful experiences for future relationships :)

All guys are dogs and only after one thing. Only do what you want to do without regard for the other person trying to pressure you into drugs, sex, or drink. The other advice is to always trust that your parents will be there for you. If you are ever in a situation that you want out of either carry cab fare, a cell phone or change for a phone, so you can call them for help.
