Loss of stratospheric ozone increase the level of ultraviolet rays (UV) reaching the surface where people live. UV rays cause skin cancer.

Sources of depletion are chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) which are found in refrigerants.

CF2Cl2 → CF2Cl + Cl
(O2), Cl + O3 → ClO + O2
ClO + O → Cl + O2

Replacing CFCs with substitues and banning of CFCs are upheld by the Montreal Protocol.

Well most of what u red is a lie. The ozone layer is caused where the solar winds and the magnetic field collides. What they told u was at a specific time of the year they rush to the south pole to eat a hole in the ozone. The CFC are not intelligent. U are supposed to be intelligent and don't believe everything that u are told. AS the solar winds come toward the earth all the solar winds are ionized particles. The particles are attracted to the magnetic poles. The beta particles are attracted to the north pole making it negative. The alpha particles are attracted to the south pole and that makes it positive. This a huge amount of current to flow through the ozone layer. The holes happen at a precise time of year depending on the tilt to the earth to the sun. The hole in the ozone layer are over the poles and there is no direct line from the sun to habituated areas. The radiation want get to u.
