Is it possible to cover a balloon in dough and then when the dough dries to pop it?

You wrap strands of string around and around the balloon, until completely covered, then brush Elmers glue all over it, wait for the glue to dry and then pop the balloon. It is prettier if you use colored string or I should say crochet thread!

Popcorn stringed garlands, fir or pine cones found strewn about in any forest (spray paint them gold or silver if your little heart desires). Pictures of loved ones, sacred pieces of memorabilia. That's all it takes. Your creation of what is important in your life. For the record, Christmas was not a Christian original. It stemmed from the worship of a pagan god that Chrisitianity couldn't obliterate but rather turned into a Christian celebration. The tree and the gift thing always has been, always will be that of pagan origin. So whatever you want to do with your tree is entirely up to you. It will be beautiful and uniquely you. No doubt about it.

I agree with Emily about using paper mache. Leave the balloon. It will soon lose its air anyhow.

yes...cake decorators do this with special icing and dough. I just saw them using sugar like glass.
