Why do the majority of freak accidents seem to happen to immigrants?

In our community the vast majority of times that a freak accident like an easily preventable drowning or hit and run takes place, it's almost always a newcomer. Are these people having a tough time fitting in or something? Much of the bad things that happen seem to go against common sense, I'm wondering if there's anything that we can do as a community to help them "learn the ropes" Like a "buddy" system or something? Perhaps they are coming from cultures where safety in lax or life has little value???? Any ideas to help them????

God bless the ignorant, accident prone pobracitos who come here and do their best. Fact is, you don't put a dangerous piece of equipment in the hands of an untrained person. Nor should we allow folks who have no one watching how they lived their lives (most from Mexico) and what they did to skin the cats that needed doing in the old country, by hook or by crook. They bring that mentality here, unaware of what damage can/could be done and they do highly dangerous and foolish things, like trying to cross the desert with a pint of water, drinking and driving (very, very common in most of rural Mexico) or not tieing a load down cuz you can't afford the rope, so you drive rrrrrrreeeeeaaaalllll slow. What ends up in Mexico with this sort of behavior all too often is a flowered burial wreath placed over a cheap wooden cross, stuck in the embankment on the side of the road where the poor fool who did what they did, died.
This is yet another reason why people shouldn't come into our country until the have been educated and made aware of our modern world. This great question strikes a very large heart and body of ill doings by unaware, ignorant folks who think lightly of using/smuggling drugs to driving after heavy drinking.
It's gonna have to stop sometime soon or all will be lost. For them and us.

You mean the people who dont believe in watching their children, and who allow a 2 year old to ride their little tricycle down the sidewalk unattended, then when that 2 year old is hit by a car, some idiot starts crying on TV acting like they are heart broken. I always feel like screaming, "Hey idiot, if you actually cared about your child you would be outside watching it". These parents should be arrested, they endangered their children, and caused their death.

In the city I live in the freak accidents are usually at the work places. Most due to the fact that they are using heavy machinery with very little training at all. Or, they are drunk and sleeping on the rails.

Send them back to where they came from, so our system doesn't get bogged down taking care of them because they are too ignorant to want to learn our laws and protect themselves. I see a lot of them actually do things to get hurt just so they can sue a "rich American", not knowing we all aren't as rich as they think. Then they turn around and drive illegally in our country, cause accidents and still again we end up footing the bill. I'd help buy a bus or plane ticket.

They do this to stay in the country the only help would be to limit the health care, obviously genuine cases.... it has been known for people to do things deliberately to stay in a country

I wouldn't think a person would need to be taught to secure a load in a pickup truck, or use an approved car seat for their kids, regardless of what nation they are in. Perhaps it has more to do with the type of person than country of origin.
