I'm going to Mexico in a week and wanted to bring back a good bottle of tequila (one not available in the US). If it is purchased at the Duty Free shop and is sealed and I have a receipt as proof of purchase, would I be permitted to carry it on board? I don't want to pack it in my checked luggage. Also are there any restrictions to carry on electronics such as cell phones, DVD players, I-Pods, cameras etc.?

You can buy it in duty free and carry it on, but this only works if you're flying directly to your final destination. If you have to change planes in the US, you'll have to go through security again, and then you won't be able to get it through. Your electronics are fine. Here's the US Transportation Security Administration's website with their list of permitted and prohibited items: http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm

As far as the electronic equipment that you asked about they are all allowed on the aircraft with you.

As far as the tequila at the duty free shop, I would suggest that you go directly to the TSA website http://www.tsa.gov/ as they set the rules and regulations as to what you can and can not bring on the aircraft with you.

Have a great flight!

I just traveled domestically, and the "NO LIQUIDS" rule still applies to things larger than a couple of ounces And that fit into a small plastic ziploc bag.

I saw a lady lose her UNOPENED can of V-8 juice at the security checkpoint, so.... I'd say you'd better have a sturdy box/container for your bottle of tequila and pack it in you check-in to be safe.

Electronics.... they're fine, just have to run them through the x-ray machines like normal. Of course, you still have to turn off everything when the plane takes off and lands...

If you buy it in the duty free shop, you are allowed to take it on the plane. No restrictions on electronics - would you really carry on a DVD player?????
