Keep drinking a lot of hot water (either as is, or with lemon & honey, or with honey). Hot water helps wash off those phlegm stuck in your throat, causing you to cough (which leads to a sore throat). The hot vapour also helps with dicongestion. Just put your nose close to the cup and breathe in the vapour from your nose if you can. You're also losing a lot of water from runny nose, so water will help yourself from dehydrating. Let the stuff from your nose come out, instead of running down your throat. Don't blow too hard as it might lead to inner ear infection.

Taking 1000-2000mg of vit C the FIRST thing in the morning (when your body absorbs the vit the most) will help stop runny nose too, which leads to phlegm. Taking it at other times will help as well.

blow your nose, most of the phlegm comes from your nose unless you have a bad cough. You need to cough up the flem. For blocked nose try one bowl of chicken soup or stuffed jalapeno peppers, they'll clear up the sinuses real fast.
Take 2000 mg of Vitamin C and 1 Zinc tablet a day. It will help you get over it faster. Ecchinecia can be taken, but you need to be careful as it can interact with prescription drugs.

Your question is all over the place. . .

What type of congestion do you have? Is it nasal or is it in your chest? That's a huge difference.

If you have chest congestion (yes, phlegm) I would recommend an expectorant (ex. dime tap). You DO NOT want to keep all of that mucus in your chest, this could lead to bronchitis and in more serious cases (left untreated) could lead to pneumonia.

BUT, if what you have is nasal congestion, you can go to your local store and purchase "SUDAFED" this works terrific and really dries up all of the excess mucus that is in your nose.

Hope this helps! Any questions, just ask.
